Proposal

The aim of the proposed book is to present and disseminate modern investigations of contemporary mediumship, and associated beliefs and practices, from a variety of different geographic locations and cultural perspectives.

It is hoped that the collection will provide the reader with an overview of the complex and wide-ranging roles that mediumship practices play in a variety of different cultural traditions.

The book will aim to demonstrate the various theoretical and methodological approaches available in the study of mediumship practices, covering phenomenological, anthropological, ethnographic, psychological and parapsychological approaches.

This book will be a unique and valuable contribution to modern academic mediumship research.
